On August 16, 2023, IShowSpeed did a live-stream where he was playing Five Nights at Freddys: Ruin. During the stream, he got jumpscared by a character in the game and proceeded to do suggestive bottom movements, where his genitalia accidentally pops out of his boxers. After realizing what happened, IShowSpeed immediately ended the stream, but many viewers managed to clip the part and many uploads of the incident went viral on many sites (Reddit, Twitter, ETC.) A day after the incident, YouTube announced that norepercussions would be taken on IShowSpeed.On August 18, Darren responded to the controversy during a livestream, and revealed that flashing on stream was one of his fears, and would vent his emotions and feelings on the livestream due to the community's excessive use of the trend "IShowMeat." The incident was subsequently featured as a "PTSD flashback" in his next FNAF stream, which gave rise to more memes related to the incident.
